SASHAのプロフィール
英ノース・ウェールズ出身のハウスDJ。本名は、アレクサンダー・コー。幼少期にモータウンから影響を受けていた彼ははじめ、ピアノの演奏でその音楽的才能を発揮したという。
サシャが初めてハウス・ミュージックに触れたのは、セカンド・サマー・オブ・ラブ・ムーヴメントで盛り上がりを見せていた、'80年代後半のハシェンダ（マンチェスター）にて。そこで大きな衝撃を受けた彼は、マンチェスターに移住しDJ活動をスタートさせた。その後は、マンチェスターのクラブShelly'sのレジデントに抜擢され、その名を知らしめた。
USハウスがメインストリームであった当時のシーンにおいて、UKハウスというスタイルを確立した重要人物の一人とも呼べるサシャ。'94年にはジョン・ディグウィードと共に、名門レーベルRenaissanceよりミックスCDを発表。サシャ＆ディグウィードのタッグはクラブ・シーンを席巻し、彼らの『Northern Exposure』シリーズ三作は、世界中でトータル100万枚を越えるヒットを記録した。'00年には英DJ MAG誌のランキング、TOP 100DJsにて1位を獲得。文字通りスーパースターDJの地位を不動のものとした。
サシャの持ち味であるアップリフティグかつトランシーなサウンドは、現在もハウス・シーンにとどまらず幅広いリスナーから支持を獲得している。（Emiko Urushibata）
