KEN ISHIIのプロフィール
世界的に活躍するテクノDJ/プロデューサー。学生時代に制作したデモ・テープをベルギーのレーベル R&S に送ったのをきっかけに、同レーベルからアルバム『Garden On The Palm』で1993年にデビュー。 ピュアなテクノ・サウンドを主体とする同作は、イギリスの音楽雑誌NMEのテクノ・チャートで一位を獲得するなど、海外でも高い評価を獲得した。1995年にはブレイク・ビーツを取り入れて、よりフロア志向になったセカンド・アルバム『Jelly Tones』をリリース。そして1997年には、自らのギターとヴォーカルをフィーチャーした問題作『Metal Blue America』を送り出し、ファンの間で賛否両論を巻き起こした。
1998年には、長野オリンピックの公式テーマ・ソングを担当。そして翌1999年には、DJスプーキー、コフュージョン、タルヴィン・シンらをゲストに迎えた『Sleeping Madness』をリリースした。2002年には自身のレーベル70Drumsを設立し、翌2003年には同レーベルより『Future In Light』を送り出す。このアルバムは、彼のルーツとも言えるデトロイト・テクノからの影響も垣間見せたサウンドで注目を集めた。
2004年には、世界最高峰のDJアワードの一つに数えられるイビザDJアワードでベスト・テクノDJ賞を受賞。そして2006年には、ファブライス・リグやファンク・デヴォイドなど豪華ゲストが参加したアルバム『Sunriser』を送り出す。現在のところ、同作が彼の最新アルバムとなっている。
